Finding and Selecting a Domain Name

Your website’s domain name is your online address, and it plays a crucial role in shaping your online identity. Whether you’re starting a new blog, launching an e-commerce store, or creating a personal portfolio site, finding and choosing the right domain name is a crucial step in establishing your online presence. Your domain name should reflect your brand identity or the purpose of your website. If you’re a business, consider using your company’s name as the domain. This not only makes it easier for customers to find you online but also reinforces your brand. Short domain names are easier to remember, type, and share. Keep your domain names short and sweet. Aim for a domain name that’s not too long.

Unfortunately, it is the year 2023, and most if not all 4,5,6, and 7-letter worded domain names are not available or have already been purchased by domain resellers and are being sold at a high price. An average domain costs about 13 USD to 30 USD. However, domain resellers can sell these same domains for thousands of dollars.  The most expensive domain name ever sold, Cars.com, sold for $872 million. Finding a good and short domain name at the average price can be really stressful and almost impossible now.

Thanks to Generative AI (PS: I am not being biased already😅 ) I was able to get two domains in a few hours, something that could have taken me a couple of days to do on my own.

Find how I came about the two domain names i.e Digibar.site and Digiby.site below.

HOW DID i get "digiby.site" and "digibar.site" domain?

1.In Google, I typed “domain name generator ai free” and a couple of websites came up. Amongst them, I went through Namelix.com, Namy.ai, Oneword.domains, Domainwheel.com and Looka.com. But it was Looka.com that stood out for me. Their website offers a professional and user-friendly platform for generating business names. Their website is well-designed and easy to navigate, which can make the naming process easy. One crucial factor when choosing a business name is domain availability. Looka.com employs AI algorithms to generate unique and creative business name suggestions. This can be valuable for businesses looking for distinctive and memorable names that stand out in the market. Looka.com can check the availability of domain names associated with the suggested business names, helping you secure an online presence easily. smoother and more efficient

2. I typed in my keyword and chose “7 character” length, and this is because there were no 4-6 character length domains available. The website provided me with 11 suggestions.

3. From the 11 domain name suggestions, I chose “Digibar.site” and “Digiby.site”. This is because I am doing a comparative analysis and there has to be a fair ground for all comparisons. These two domain names had the same search volume and syallbi which are 20 and 3 respectively. Also, these domain names have the word “digi” which I needed to be in my domain to represent the digital marketing brand. Unfortunately, not surprising though, the “.com” extensions had both been taken. The “.ca” extension for Digibar had also been taken, so I opted for the “.site” extension for both websites.

4. And Voila! In a couple of hours, I have been able to choose great domain names. This would have taken me a couple of days if I had to look for it manually. I purchased the domains from Namecheap.com (free advert 😀)  their domains are normally less expensive than other domain name sellers.

Now I have acquired two domain names I will use for the websites for my Major Research Paper. In the next couple of days, I will develop and design both websites. After development, I will start individual blogs on each website. These individual blogs will serve as para data to record how the content was produced. Find links for the individual blogs below:
